I recently came upon this scene early one morning while photo-grazing around Fearrington Village. It was indeed an attention-grabbing collection of elements, including contrast of the subjects, their location on the crest of the foreground, the fog, and the non-distractive nature of the foreground and background. I only had to wait for slight movement of separation between the subjects. The “blackness” of the animals hides some of their coat details, but that detail is irrelevant here. Finally, a color rendition of the scene was usable and perhaps preferable in some circumstances, but in this medium the B&W conversion is far better.
